HRH Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of Rajpipla is the world’s first openly gay prince and a globally recognized advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, mental health, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Born into the royal family of Rajpipla, Gujarat, India, he made history in 2006 when he publicly came out, challenging deep-seated societal norms and becoming a beacon of hope for marginalized communities.
As the founder of the Lakshya Trust, Prince Manvendra has dedicated his life to supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and those affected by HIV/AIDS.
As a board member of Eyes Open International, he contributes to global anti-human trafficking initiatives.
As a royal, he uses his privilege not for power, but for purpose. He fights for numerous worthwhile causes, such as tribal rights, women’s rights, animal rights, rights for the visually impaired, and the environment.
His work spans advocacy, policy change, and direct community support, earning him numerous accolades, including recognition from international organizations and governments. He has spoken at prestigious platforms, including the United Nations and the 2019 Human Rights Conference at World Pride NYC, where he was the Keynote Speaker.
Prince Manvendra’s mission is to foster acceptance and provide safe spaces for all individuals, particularly in conservative societies. His efforts continue to break barriers and inspire new generations to live authentically and fearlessly.
Beyond his advocacy work, he is an organic farmer, plays the harmonium, an Indian musical instrument, and is a certified yoga instructor.
